As one of its most iconic brands, the Land Rover Defender has been and will once again be a staple in the Land Rover brand. This off-roading SUV will be making its return, which is estimated for 2018. While we don’t yet have all of the details, the Defender will most likely sport at least two separate wheelbase options, numerous bodystyle options, an aluminum structure designed to keep its weight down. As an off-roading vehicle, drivers can reasonably expect to see an independent suspension with a four by four system.
Never lacking in speed and all-around performance, drivers can also expect the new Defender successor to sport impressive performance features. Looking at other engines within the Land Rover family, the Defender could very well come equipped with a 2 liter diesel four cylinder engine, which could grand the new SUV as much as 180 horsepower! Additionally, the new and improved SUV could very well come with a 3 liter V6 engine, which would supply it with 300 horsepower. Engines will most likely be offered in either six speed manual or nine speed automatic transmissions.
