The thing that sets Land Rover apart from so many other automotive brands is its overwhelming and diverse luxury. Other things set it apart, too, like its off-road capabilities and impressive performance numbers, but those who invest in a new Range Rover here in Peabody, MA often do so because they want a really great sport utility vehicle that also proves to be incredibly lavish.
Late last month, for example, Land Rover showed off a handful of these new luxuries, courtesy of the automaker’s special vehicle operations business that specializes in opulence and performance. In using three updated models, including the 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography, the 2018 Land Rover Discovery SVX, and 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR, the automaker was able to show off just how luxurious these models can be.
For example, the Range Rover SVAutobiography comes stocked with all sorts of otherworldly luxuries, including a small refrigerator, seats that can recline to 40 degrees with 22 possible different adjustments, heated calf and foot rests, and even a hot stone massage function in the leather chairs. The vehicle also features its own 4G WiFi hotspot and two 10-inch rear entertainment screens for watching movies.
“If you look at what our competitors do, and if you look at the aftermarket, consumers always want more, that little bit extra,” said John Edwards, director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations in an interview with Fortune.
